The City highlights the culture, heritage & achievements of our Caribbean-American neighbors in June. The City celebrates and honors Caribbean-American Heritage Month in June with a performance and a proclamation highlighting the culture, heritage & achievements of our Caribbean-American neighbors.


Delaware African and Caribbean Affairs Commission Celebrates National Caribbean-American Heritage Month

The month of June is Caribbean-American Heritage Month—a month dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the significance of Caribbean people and their descendants in the history and culture of the United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of June 2019, the Caribbean-American population of the U.S. was more than 13 million.


June 2022: Caribbean American Heritage Month

WHEREAS, the Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) worked with the Office of Congresswoman Barbara Lee to galvanize support for a Congressional resolution to formally recognize the annual commemoration from organizations across the country and held events on Capitol Hill promoting the designation in June of 2004


Celebrating NCARW2022 – DC Caribbean Restaurants, Markets & Food Events

How can we get the word out on the celebration of National Caribbean-American Restaurant Week 2022 (NCARW) when most Caribbean restaurants and markets are small businesses? Celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month by frequenting these establishments and events and spreading the word through social media is an opportunity to help these businesses recover from the pandemic.

The Jamaica 60 Diaspora Conference convened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade will be held under the theme “Re-Igniting a Nation for Greatness” over the period 14th to 16th June 2022. This year’s Conference aligns with the Government’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and seeks to underpin the efforts geared toward the digital transformation of Jamaican society
